✨ Staff Spotlight Series ✨

Introducing our new Staff Spotlight Series! Each time we’ll be showcasing one of the many amazing people who work at Artburst - kicking off with Amy, our brilliant co-founder 👑

Before Artburst was born, Amy trained and worked as an actor, writer, designer, performing arts teacher and trained in integrative arts therapy - a woman of many talents!

Now she’s an extra busy bee writing and singing our Artburst songs, creating and brainstorming exciting workshops and festivals and being the driving force behind the company, along side being a Mum to two beautiful children ⭐️

According to Amy, “Penny and I set up Artburst because we understood the difference painting, singing, dancing and acting made to children’s confidence. We were always more interested in the creative process rather than the end product and always wanted children to leave our workshops empowered.”

Today is Autism Awareness Day so we’re throwing it back to our incredible Shadow Story SEND project with Museum of London.

For the whole of April we will be showcasing our wonderful Shadow Stories films - written, directed and designed by autistic children in collaboration with Artburst facilitators.

This Sunday we’ll be premiering our first film in the series ‘The Unexpected Treasure of Captain Junior’ - see you then! ✨

This #ThrowbackThursday we’re looking back at one of our Animal Jamboree celebrations from 2015!

🌴 🦒 🐊 🐘 🦓 🦛🌴

Our Artburst Minis project would involve five weeks of animal safari workshops in Hackney libraries with weekly crafts, singing, storytelling and makaton - all free for Hackney families. We’d always finish the project with a big Animal Jamboree party at the end 🥳 🎈

The workshops were a huge success - 92% of parents reported an improvement with their child’s confidence, speech, language and communication skills because of our sessions.

We really loved this project so we used it as inspiration for our Animal Safari Online Festival that you see today! ✨✨
