Vacancy: Volunteer Intern (3 MONTH INTERNSHIP)
We have an exciting opportunity to become a volunteer intern with an award-winning arts organisation.
We are always looking for enthusiastic and creative interns for full and part-time positions to support our small core team in day-to-day operations.
Our volunteer interns help us deliver our weekly workshops, and support our funded and community projects in both the preparation stage and in workshop assistance. We provide on-the-job experience and training in workshop facilitation and arts administration, with the aim to help our interns as much as possible with their professional development in their chosen career path.
Previous volunteer interns have gone on to work as freelance workshop facilitators, nursery/primary school teachers, and professional careers in the charity sector.
Please note this is a voluntary position but Artburst will provide £15 per day for expenses.
Essential qualities
- Good written English
- Computer literate
- Ability to work well in a team
- Self-motivated and willingness to ‘get stuck in’
- A passion for the arts and working with children
Desirable qualities
- DBS (although Artburst will provide a DBS otherwise)
- Previous experience/education within in the arts
- Proficiency in Adobe applications (e.g. Premier Pro & Photoshop)
Possible start date: Negotiable
Internship period: 3 months minimum

Vacancy: Volunteers (ONGOING)
We always need help and support and could not do what we do without our wonderful volunteers! If you are wishing to develop your experience in arts workshops, festivals ore even just in the day-to-day running of the Artburst office then we would love to have you on board.
Please note this is a voluntary position but Artburst will provide £15 per day for expenses.
We will require two referees and Artburst will provide you with a volunteer DBS check.

Workshop Leaders (FREELANCE)
Our Artburst workshop leaders usually come from an art or drama background and are enthusiastic, energetic, resourceful and have a passion for improving the lives of children through the arts.
During Artburst workshops you will run drama games, assist in writing scripts, direct performances and create props, costumes and sets, alongside a co-facilitator. You may be required to devise your own activities based on a theme or classic children’s story, or you might be working to an existing Artburst workshop plan.
All workshop leaders are expected to meet and plan sessions with their co-facilitator, as well as packing materials, prepping for all sessions and attending any relevant training.
Essential qualities
- At least 2 year’s experience in workshop facilitation
- Enhanced DBS check
- Ability to work well in a team
- Resourcefulness and flexibility in planning and delivering workshops
Desirable qualities
- A degree or professional qualification in your chosen platform
- Experience in Makaton signing
